Beers, steers, & queers pt. II

Real time blogging from 9:30. This should be interesting. Bush-bashing is always appreciated here in the District. There are way more dudes here who look like professional wrestlers than last night.

Wednesday June 21
Ministry
Revolting Cocks
Pitbull Daycare
9:30 Club

Pitbull Daycare is a stupid name for a band. I saw them at the Goth Prom 2004. They are from TX and do not want George W. back.

RevCo: I didn't get any pictures of the other singer, either in his tux or in his nightgown because the bouncer said pix were only during the first three songs (although they only let the crowd take photos during the first Ministry song and they tried to take my phone). [Josh is from Stayte, another band of cuties from BC - and here's a pic of him in his dress, yay!] I thought the RevCo set was better at 9:30 than at Sonar. Fucking amazing.

Ministry was good too. It was nice to hang out with my friend A again (we've seen Ministry together before). He was talking to some good looking guy who works at the Native American museum. I should probably go check that out again.... Oh, uh, Ministry was pretty much the same. I didn't stay as long as Tuesday because I'm leaving for Jordan this afternoon and I didn't do laundry or pack or anything yet. Maybe I'll write more about this show later.

Beers, Steers, and Queers part 1

Tuesday June 20
Ministry
Revolting Cocks
Sonar

Briefly:
  • I can't believe this show wasn't sold out....must have been because the tickets were so expensive ($30 compared to $25 for 9:30's show) and it was Tuesday
  • I can't believe I'm up to 29 shows already this year
  • Revolting Cocks was fucking awesome - they have three singers on the road with them, one 'Dresden Dolls' looking dude in a tux (and later lingerie), a tough-guy looking guy, and some Belgian guy who reminded me of that guy who reminded me of Dr. Mraz
  • You really haven't lived until you've seen a giant penis sing 'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?'
  • Ministry was great too - many songs from the latest album which is much heavier than the last one
  • 'NWO' makes me nostalgic for the first Gulf War...
I'm looking forward to tonight's show.
