GWAR
The Red Chord
Municipal Waste
9:30 Club

So it's been a while since I've been to a show (I didn't count my trip to the NSO) but what better show to break my fast than GWAR, in the rubber flesh.

Municipal Waste is gonna fuck you up! Good old fashioned skate thrash. Flipped up hats in the audience and all. Apparently they are from Richmond which explains their frequent appearances at Jaxx.

Hey, I finally watched the Red Chord. Apparently they tend to break down when driving around this area. I actually really enjoyed them. Despite various narrators in the audience - why in the hell you feel the need to not only repeat every thing the singer just said but also provide commentary on every single thing is beyond me.

So anyway, 9:30 club had hung up hundreds of square feet of plastic sheeting in preparation. The crowd of white shirts (and that guy from Baltimore that I HATE) down below started to swell and then finally finally GWAR came out. So it was a 'Journey through Hell' with GWAR - the set looked like a pirate ship and on the way through hell we encounted Hitler/Jesus (Jitler), a fat cop, GW Bush, some nu-metal dude, their number one fan, the pope, and Satan. Everyone in the main floor got sprayed with various fluids and the Gor Gor came out to eat Satan. It was pretty fuckin sweet.
