First time at Merriweather Post - it's nicer than Nissan Pavilion anyway. I had to twist Mr. A's arm to get him to come along but I think he enjoyed the show. I had general admission tickets so we were right in front of the stage - no farther back than if the show had been at 9:30 Club.
I didn't really understand their timing system - the website said gates at 5:30 and the tickets said the show was at 7pm so I figured if we got there at 8, there would be plenty of time to see Megadeth (the second band). Not true. We only saw their last song - they were off the stage by 8:30. I guess these old guys need to get to bed.
Heaven & Hell came on around 9. I really wish I'd had my earplugs. H&H basically played everything from Heaven & Hell and Mob Rules and the three new songs from their Black Sabbath: The Dio Years album. The Shadow of the Wind....ah Dio. Where did he get that velvet tunic?
