Hellyeah
Machine Head
Nonpoint
Orthopedic Specialists Sports Complex
Davenport IA

We had a hard time getting back to this place since it was on a one-way street and every parking lot was filled with ice. So we missed Bury Your Dead, which I guess is OK since I did get a glimpse of Eric standing on the stage during Machine Head. Mmmm.
What, oh yeah, so this venue is just an inflatable dome that usually contains a golf driving range and the floor is fake grass for enhanced standability which was pretty nice. Except that the fake grass gets all over just like real grass. We watched but missed the point of Nonpoint. Very shouty.
Mr. S showed up just in time for Machine Head and was impressed by the sheer number of drunks at the show. There were also quite a few neck tattoos, though we felt like a fair number of the tattoos we saw might be prison tats.
We didn't stay for the entirely of Hellyeah because we wanted to move our cars out of the icy lot before all the drunks got on the road. I'm not even sure what to say about them - it's Vinnie Paul's "backyard barbeque" project so it pretty much sounds like what you'd expect from the ex-Pantera/Damage Plan drummer and his yahoo friends.
Overall I had a fun time in the mid-winter in the mid-West. I just wish I wasn't sick the whole time.
