Help Save Afghan De-Mining Dogs

Obviously, saving people from mines is pretty hardcore - this is from a friend of mine who's spent quite a bit of time help both people and animals in Afghanistan:

Dear Friends,

I need your help. Neel is a former de-mining dog - she has spent 5 years of her life saving people's lives in Afghanistan by looking for mines in the world's third most heavily mined country (where most of the mine fields were scattered indiscriminately over 30 years of war, most without maps), and preventing children, one of the primary victims of mines, from death and dismemberment.

We are raising money to bring Neel to the US to be adopted by a loving family.

It will cost $ 2,500 to bring Neel to the US, and we have $1000 so far to do so, and the flight details will be handled by a Kabul-based Charity - Tigger House, which helps adopt Afghan street dogs and cats. We would adopt Neel ourselves, except we have a house filled with pound animals, and I am pretty much eating pet fur every day for breakfast.

We are looking for donations to help cover the $1,500 gap during the next two weeks. Please help us bring this sweet dog to the comforts of the US.

Those who donate will get a picture of Neel, or Sally Struthers, your choice. If you would like to donate, please contact alexdehgan at gmail. Any funds over $1500 will be donated to Tigger House

Please feel free to share this email with others .

Many thanks for your help.

Alex & Kara
