I got these tickets as an early birthday present for my friend and coworker M. At the last minute, we roped in A, Esq. since M's girlfriend made other plans. And of course, as well all know, I hate the Black Cat (although this is the second week in a row that I've been there and nothing was stolen from me and nobody said anything obnoxious to me. Hmmm....

I have to admit that I'm not super familiar with the Melvins; the last time that I really listened to them was in high school (where I knew someone who named their cat Melvin). It was an awesome set though. They played for well over an hour in various configurations. King Buzzo didn't come out until probably about a half-hour in. From now on, I think I might only go to see bands with two drummers and/or two afros. Even the roadies were wearing rainbow afro wigs. Awesome.
