So I spent a lovely weekend in the Hampton/Norfolk/VA Beach area with Ms. J - thanks to her and mom for their hospitality. We spent way too much on clothes and even more on makeup, tried on clear heeled shoes, searched for Gentleman Jim, went to a couple 'interesting' bars, and hung out with everyone's favorite 3 boys (+ Merch Mistress) at IHOP [which was exactly like a dream I had a couple months ago, and was therefore very weird]. Plus the Steelers won the Super Bowl, so all is right with the world (except I'm really tired...)
Apparently this was a mixture of two different tours. The first band we saw was Philly's own Twilight Collective. I thought they were good, but I was paying more attention to the football game.
Officially on tour with 3 were fellow New Yorkers, Life Before This, who rocked the house. I really enjoyed them and I think it was about this time when Willie Parker made a 75 yard touchdown. Yay!
Finally, after J changed her clothes, I changed my shoes, and Billy changed his amp, 3 came to the duct-taped-off area of the floor known as the stage. Despite several technical issues, I thought it was awesome. New song 'D Ripper' was particularly impressive. [if I hadn't forgotten to bring it, Joe could have used what I brought him from Jordan last fall] Add some 'cookie monster vocals' and live up to your Metal Blade home! Hmmmm...maybe 3 can tour with Bolt Thrower....that would be awesome! So anyway, I don't think I have anything objective to say, since this was my 12th live viewing of 3. I always enjoy their music, forcing them to make u-turns, and hanging out - even if I don't get to hear 'Fable' or the 'binky song'.
-belated congratulations to the Gartdrumm's on their progeny. Nice work!
-Joey is your buddy!
