Anthrax at Jaxx
Forwardhead
Moab
So, um, yeah....remember last Thursday? This one was even weirder in that sense (sadly there were no cheese fries). I actually had a dream a few months ago that I was in the pit at an Anthrax show and damned if it didn't come true.
Briefly:
Moab - locals. It was OK. I do think it's nice that Jaxx is somewhere that 40 year old beer truck drivers (or whatever profession you can do looking like that) can play with their metal bands. They did have some original songs that weren't too bad.
Forwardhead - Baltimoreos. I may have seen them before. They sound a lot like Tool, which is not my thing musically. I did think they were really good musicians though.
Anthrax...Woo! This dude asked me what my favorite Anthrax album is...obviously I have no answer to that, I just wanted to see them in a tiny venue like Jaxx. I'm familiar with the hits, as it were, but not much beyond that. I'm probably more familiar with Scott Ian's frequent (and annoying) guest appearances on various MTV/VH1 programming. For those of you who asked - Scott Ian's beard was orange and brown (getting ready for Halloween, no doubt). With the exception of Joey Belladonna, they all look great (Joey Belladonna always looked old though). Charlie is probably the best drummer I have ever seen (sorry Josh). Was I Caught in a Mosh? Fuck yeah! Did I see a girl who looked like Medusa? Fuck yeah! Did they play the Team America theme song at the end of the show? Fuck yeah! Did I cry for the Indians? Yeah, that too.
